This Course will familiarize Teachers with a play written for performance in Lakota (“Iktomi’s New Wife”), introduce theater script format, and build basic skills and experience in performance and stage production. The purpose is to empower teachers to use the script and dramatic play in their classrooms so that students can practice speaking Lakota in conversational settings with an underlying story. An understanding of basic stagecraft will allow teachers to help their students put on the play or scenes from the play for their classmates and families.
