Course Description (Wóuŋspe Oyákapi):
This one credit course provides a more comprehensive introduction to Lakota phonology than that offered in LG 101. Students will learn about the Lakota phonemic inventory, consonant clusters and numerous fast speech phenomena. The course will also offer practice in listening comprehension.
This course will benefit both second language learners and those native speakers who are current or prospective Lakota language teachers.
